Modeling, 3D Printing, and Artistic Painting
Inclusive City, a project led by the City of Almada.
The model was created using orthophoto maps and 3D modeling. Some of the elements, due to their importance, such as Cristo Rei, were enlarged in proportion to the scale used in order to ensure their visibility.
While still in the modeling stage, adjustments were made to the model in order to eliminate elements that could pose a risk when used tactilely. This is precision work, carried out over time and with the support of multiple partial tests of the model.
The printing was done in PLA.
The various parts of the map were treated, assembled, and protected with primer and paint, which ensures increased resistance of the model.
The project was developed over a period of 16 weeks.
