The Vila Franca de Xira museum asked us for a set of 3D replicas, some of which will be duplicates of existing pieces, on a 1:1 scale, and others will be models created from technical drawings and illustrations.
We began gathering existing information to support our work.
We then carried out point cloud collection and modeling sessions for the 1:1 scale parts. At the same time, we also took photos to support the artistic painting phase.
In the case of replicas based on illustrations and technical drawings, we carry out a study and modeling process with a view to creating the 3D model.
With the models approved by the client, we began 3D printing using high-strength PLA as the raw material.
The final phase involved the intervention of the artist, who, in addition to assembling and preparing the different materials and pieces, proceeded with different levels of painting to create replicas that, due to their authenticity, are indistinguishable from the original pieces.
