The project began with a significant challenge. Sertã needed to create 31 replicas of funerary steles that were located in an outdoor space in Sertã.
To achieve perfect replicas, we logically needed access to electricity to install the necessary set of equipment. Once this initial difficulty was resolved, we proceeded with laser scanning and an exhaustive photographic survey to support artistic painting.
After creating the 31 full-scale 3D models, some of which were large, we proceeded to print them in PLA.
The structures were then protected with a primer alloy to provide a good base for the artistic painting.
The process concluded with the logistics of transporting the set of pieces and with their creation and installation in the exhibition space.
This is probably the first museum space in Portugal entirely composed of 3D printed pieces.
